Active Awards for Sport Funding Programme

Sport NI has announced that the new small grants programme; the Active Awards for Sport programme is opening for applications in the coming weeks. Under Awards for Sport the potential awards range from £1,000 to £10,000.

Active Awards for Sport is a small grants programme primarily aimed at grassroots community based sport. The programme will prioritise sports clubs, community groups and governing bodies of sport, especially those based in areas of greatest need.

Who can apply?

  • Governing Bodies of Sport (recognised by Sport Northern Ireland)
  • Sport Clubs (must be affiliated to a Governing Body of Sport recognised by Sport Northern Ireland)
  • Charities
  • Parent Teacher Associations
  • Community/Voluntary Groups

The programme will close for applications on the 20th October at 12noon.

Information Sessions

Sport Northern Ireland will be delivering three Information Sessions in September 2014 in Belfast, Derry/Londonderry and Cookstown. These are set times and will take place in a group.

Drop In Clinics

Sport Northern Ireland will also be facilitating a number of ‘drop in’ clinics at various locations throughout Northern Ireland to give groups the opportunity to drop in and have a one to one chat about the Active Awards for Sport Programme.
