Can you describe your business?

My business is based on making the individual, female or male, look and feel amazing using a range of holistic therapies, incorporating Reflexology, Reiki, Facial Reflexology and Zone Facelift. All these therapies are carried out using non invasive techiniques and natural lotions and oils. Facial Reflexology Zone Lift is a new process which is being pioneered by Ziggy Bergman, reflexogist to the stars and is really taking the cosmetic world by storm. Ziggy trained me and only a few practitioners are available within Ireland. The Sunday Express described it as being  a credible alternative to the facelift.

Why did you start your own business?

I first became interested in holistic therapies after discovering that they helped me in my own life and I wanted to share my life experience with others who were encountering similar difficulties. Since beginning my own training I have discovered more interesting and beneficial techniques which can help people feel great and or look amazing. 

What are the best things about running your own business?

 Being self employed allows me to make the decisions that effect me in my work and gives me a vechile to share my skills. It also allows me to work around the demands of my young family, doing something I love and am passionate about.

What are the main challenges facing the business?

The setting up of the actual systems required in the administration and marketing of a functioning business are the main challenges I faced. Once these are put in place you can relax and concentrate on the day to day running of your business.

What advice would you give to someone starting a business?

Ensure that you have a sound knowledge in the area you plan starting your business in and don’t think too much about the obstacles. They can be overcome. Dwelling on problems could actually prevent you from even starting. So don’t over think them.

Can you describe your experience of running a business in three words or less?

Demanding, challenging and very exciting!
