Managing Occupational Road Risk Seminars
Free events to help businesses improve work-related road safety
Road Safety Council of Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Safety Group are hosting seminars to managing occupational road risk and tips for winter driving.
Health and safety law applies to work activities on the road in the same way it does to all other work activities. Organisations need to manage the risks to drivers as part of their health and safety duties.
Effective management of work-related road safety helps reduce risk, no matter what size your organisation is.
Event content
The seminar will highlight road investigations from a PSNI perspective:
- understanding the law
- when HSENI is involved
- the range of offences
- a PSNI investigation – what happens
- what the PSNI will look at
- sample cases and outcomes
- sentencing guidelines
- powers of the court
The main areas of managing occupational road risk will be covered:
- ways to assess risk
- how to involve all levels in the organisation
- what training is needed
- systems to monitor performance
- safe driver – what you need to do
- safe vehicle – what you need to do
- safe journey – what you need to do
- grey fleet
- key business benefits
The event will also communicate safe winter driving best practise.
